Scheme Wind-up

The Evergreen Retirement Trust (the Scheme) has been wound-up and the assets of the trust have been distributed to members.

Unpaid Scheme members distribution funds have been transferred to the New Zealand Treasury as Unclaimed Money and can be claimed by contacting the New Zealand Treasury and following the process at https://www.treasury.govt.nz/information-and-services/other-services/unclaimed-money.

Scheme Wind-up History

The Scheme was closed and commenced wind-up on the 6 April 2018. Members of the Scheme had the option to have the distribution paid to a nominated bank account held in their name or to have the distributions paid as a transfer to another QROP or UK pension scheme.

An interim distribution was paid in October 2018 to members who had provided their Member Nomination and their certified proof of identity, proof of address and bank account details (together the Certified Documents) at that time. A second distribution was declared and paid in March 2022.

After an extended process the Trustee and Manager completed the liquidation of the underlying investment and the Trustee, manager and administrator completed a number of processes and approvals that are required to be completed before the final distribution values could be announced to members and the administrator could commence the final distribution payment in late December 2022. The final wind-up distribution payments have been completed to all members who have provided their Member Nomination and Certified Documents.

For members who have not provided us with a signed Member Nomination form and Certified Documents or if the certified documentation is incomplete, we have been unable to make the final wind-up distribution payment to them or their nominated QROPS or registered UK pension scheme. These member distribution funds have been Transferred to the New Treasury as Unclaimed Monies

Distributions

Final Wind-up Distribution – The Trustee announced the final wind-up distribution for the Scheme on 21 December 2022. Individual member notification of the distribution were emailed to members at their registered email address on 23 December 2022. Members who had provided Evergreen with the necessary Member Nomination form and Certified Documents and we had confirmed receipt, were paid the final wind-up distribution commencing in 23 December 2022.

Second Interim Distribution – The Trustee announced the second interim wind up distribution for the Scheme on 21 March 2022, representing 70.05% of the Absolute Growth Fund and 39.30% of the Income Plus Fund at the 30 November 2021. Individual member notification of the distribution were emailed to members at their registered email address. Members who had provided Evergreen with all the necessary Member Nomination form and Certified Documents and we had confirmed receipt,  were paid the second interim distribution. The Scheme administrator made the second interim distribution payments to members nominated bank accounts or nominated QROPS or registered UK pension scheme on or about the 15 April 2022.

First Interim Distribution – The Trustee announced the first interim wind up distribution for the Scheme on 31 October 2018, representing 84.39% of the Absolute Growth Fund and 44.46% of the Income Plus Fund at the 6 April 2018. Individual member notification of the distribution was emailed to members at their registered email address. Members who had provided Evergreen with the necessary Member Nomination Form and Certified Documents and we had confirmed receipt, were paid the first interim distribution payment. The Scheme administrator made the first batch of interim distribution payments to members nominated bank accounts or nominated QROPS or registered UK pension scheme on or about the 31 October 2018 and subsequent batches of payments quarterly there after where members had provided the required Member Nomination Form and Certified Documentation.
